Who we are

Trio Interpreting is a women-owned interpreting and translation company providing professional Spanish–English language access services to courts, and both private and public-sector entities across Virginia.

The three founders of Trio Interpreting have multiple years of experience interpreting in Virginia state courts. We hold the appropriate credentials and training required to deliver accurate, impartial, and professional services in compliance with court standards. Trio Interpreting is not an agency and does not outsource or subcontract its work; all services are provided directly by the founders.

Trio interpreters are fully trained in and adhere strictly to the Interpreter Code of Ethics. We place the highest priority on accuracy, confidentiality, and impartiality, and we are known for our professionalism, dependability, and cultural competence.

Behind all of the work we do is this dedicated team of women. We pride ourselves on being open-minded, hardworking, and ready to exceed our clients’ expectations.

Meet the Team

Julie Davi is a state-qualified legal interpreter based in Richmond, Virginia. She received a certificate from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Spanish-English Translation and Interpretation (SETI) program, where she  completed internships at both the Federal Public Defenders Office of Eastern Virginia, and the non-profit Sacred Heart Center (Centro Sagrado Corazón) in the Manchester neighborhood of Richmond. While Julie’s primary work consists of interpreting in the state courts, she has also worked extensively as an interpreter with the University of Richmond’s Access to Justice Clinic, which handles Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), asylum, and other immigration cases.  

Prior to becoming an interpreter, Julie taught Spanish for 25 years at both the collegiate and high school levels. She attended Dickinson College in Pennsylvania where she studied in Málaga, Spain her junior year and earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish, then the University of Virginia where she received an MA in Spanish-language literature. She has traveled throughout the Spanish-speaking world, and prides herself on her cultural competence, language accuracy, and professionalism.

Vanesa Inunciaga Snyder is a state-certified Spanish court interpreter based in Richmond, Virginia. Having grown up in the north of Spain, she speaks four languages: Spanish, Basque, English, and French.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of the Basque Country and earned a master's degree in International Business from the same college. Prior becoming an interpreter, Vanesa also taught English in Spain after achieving Cambridge’s AICE Diploma, and she’s been a full time interpreter for 8 years now.

She’s been trained by nationally recognized interpreters and she has worked on keeping her interpreting skills sharp while she continues her education. Vanesa now provides interpretation and translation services for different clients, mostly in the legal field but also medical, social services and other settings around the state. Her broad experience has enabled her to develop a strong understanding of linguistic nuances, enabling her to navigate and communicate effectively across different languages and cultural contexts.

Lara Pastor is a state-certified Spanish court interpreter with over 10 years of experience providing interpreting services in legal, medical, educational, and community settings. She is recognized for her professionalism, linguistic precision, and commitment to accuracy.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Translation and Interpretation from Brigham Young University. Originally from Spain and having lived in France, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, Lara brings extensive cross-cultural insight to her work, ensuring interpretation that is both linguistically faithful and culturally nuanced. Her work is guided by a strong commitment to confidentiality, impartiality, and thorough preparation, ensuring that every interaction is handled with professionalism and respect. She is dedicated to delivering reliable, high-quality language services that help bridge language barriers and ensure meaningful communication for all parties involved.
